I have a lot to say about court reporting and the legal industry, I do, but I just can’t blog about it right now. Just like many of you, I’m horrified by the mass shooting by the “creepy” guy in a movie theatre in Colorado. Then I saw a Facebook post by a friend of mine, Janice K., which said it all:
The girl in front of me at Osco today couldn’t buy a lighter because she didn’t have an I.D. – yet, someone can buy 6,000 rounds of ammunition, four guns, including an assault rifle, and not raise a red flag????
Everybody who knows me knows I can talk smack with the best of them, but there aren’t enough F-inspired word combos to even come close to blogging about how effing effed up this is. Maybe the best we can do at this moment is look at our kids, our spouses, our friends and co-workers and pray for their safety because there but for the Grace of God go ALL OF US.
I differ with many folks within my inner circle on the Second Amendment. When there is no effective gun control and a whack job with orange hair can buy enough ammunition to shoot up a theatre full of movie-goers, then I say we haven’t learned a damn thing since Columbine and the other mass shooting tragedies that came before and have happened since. I don’t need guns. If you’re reading this and you still need a gun, you might want to make sure you have it next time you head off to the movies. You might need it. To protect yourself from the guy who shows up with an assault rifle.
For now, why don’t we all put down our guns and offer a moment of silence to the families of TWELVE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES AND FIFTY EIGHT WHO WERE WOUNDED.
I’ll be back later this week with words of wisdom, or hilarity, or filth to entertain you, make you think. Or not.

From one seasoned veteran to another…What has happened in and with society since we started, 30-some years ago? The worst people and their actions, and yet the most awesome acts of heroism. We do see and hear it all. This is unbelievable. We are the witnesses to history; I think we see and feel it in an extra light. Thank you for posting. Charlene A. Sasso, CSR, RPR
